JL Smokehouse BBQ

Was here on vacation and as soon as you walk in this is the type of place where they treat you like family. All of the food was on point and they had very generous portion sizes. I hadn’t seen hot water cornbread before but it exceeded my expectations. You can tell they really care about serving a high quality product and getting to know their customers. The only note I had was they only have one type of sauce. It was good but sometimes I like options

Now I been wanting to go here for a long time and finally got the chance to do so and I'm glad I went by myself considering I paid 40$ for everything I got and that was, Hot link,ribs, and chicken with Mac and cheese and greens with a brisket taco. I was very mixed on this one because the greens, Mac and hot link were on point but the ribs and chicken were dry in my opinion and the brisket taco was great. Idk maybe I just like pork ribs better but the chicken part is what got me and the price for it all was a lil much for just me overall it was good and I would recommend you try it for yourself.

I travel for work and I've had this location saved on my to go list for a year or more so I scheduled my route to stop by today... I watched an episode of famous YouTuber Mark Weins with the owner JL dropping some knowledge about his art and skills so I wanted to support. I placed my 3 meat plate order online for pickup at 10:30 am for 11 am pickup. I was the first person at the gate and thought they must still be closed. Nope. I looked up again and instantly I was being welcomed and greeted by a young brother who unlocked the gate 🤝🏽 I told him I didn't know they opened at 11 due to a catering order and did my online order come in ??? Me and brother chatted about my name being JL also and I reside in TX and watched the Mark Weins episode featuring the business ... He told me to come on inside 1, go to counter 2 , and talk to Mom about my online order 3. This already had a family vibe and the whole time waiting I could smell and see the smoke rolling down the whole block outside so I knew it was a real Pit Master at work just like the episode in real time...I didn't get a chance to meet JL today, but Mom, Brother, and another Nice Lady in the kitchen I noticed all taking care of business. I had brisket, rib tips, and sausage for proteins and I ordered the BBQ spaghetti too. I was notified that the sausage was coming off the smoker and my order was up next. I grabbed a seat and looked around a bit while waiting. I was back across the street with my order in about 8 mins. I think portion size for the price and quality was spot on bc I've been full all day. I cleaned my plate right there in the lot before continuing my route since everything was looking and smelling so good I didn't want to wait. 10 out of 10 I'll be back again Family

A friend and I stopped in because of the positive feedback we’d seen. We got there right as they were opening to make sure they weren’t sold out of anything. It’s a cozy little spot with inside and outside seating - kind of rustic and not too fancy. We ordered the “Heavy Hitter” with Brisket, Chicken, Hot Links, Pulled Pork & Bologna. And we had Macaroni & Cheese, Collard Greens, & BBQ Baked Beans for our sides. It was a lot of food for two people. All the meats were tender, tasty and had a nice smoked flavor. The collard greens were probably the best I’ve had in any restaurant. Service by the staff was friendly and attentive.

My boyfriend and I drove 30+ minutes to come try the food. SO GOOD!! The customer service was amazing, everyone was so so nice! We came right after the lunch rush and originally the only people there, but by the time we left, the parking lot was packed. We tried a little bit of everything and have no complaints for any of them!! The seasoning and crust was perfect on all the options, but my favorite was the oxtail eggrolls. Ignore the negative reviews, this place has delicious food, a wonderful environment, very friendly employees, and you definitely feel the welcoming family atmosphere. Would absolutely come again!! (Sorry about the poor picture quality, we couldn’t wait to dig in)
