This was the best experience from beginning to end. From the moment you walk through the door you know you are in for a treat. The service, the food, the ambiance so classy. This place is great for a date night or a night out with the girls. You can tell the chef lives what she does and wants you to be satisfied. She even takes the time to come out and greet you and ensure she met your expectations. This place is definitely 5 ⭐️.

Every time that I go to slate by nik fields, I feel at home it is classy without being pretentious. It is warm and inviting it feels like family when you come there from the service to the food, everything is amazing. I love all the dishes that I have had.But of course, my favorite is devilish every time I come there, the servers know to bring that to my table. And of course, my lemonade, my pear lemonade. And of course it would not be a complete meal without having a sweet treat.I always get the cheesecake. Going to slate by nik fields is an experience it is, it is a must try when you are coming here to phoenix arizona. Chef and her staff make you feel at home and welcome i love going there and experiencing her food i highly recommend this place to everybody that comes here to phoenix

The night we came service was a tad bit slow. There were some small mix ups with what we ordered because they were very short staffed but I could tell they were trying their best and Nik and her team were very nice, welcoming, apologetic and accommodating they went above and beyond correcting the issue for us and even ended up giving us free dessert. Great customer service. We appreciate being heard and seen! Everything was delicious.
One small thing that caught me by surprise was the menu says the meals are meant to be shared so we only ordered one dish (ignite) with the intention of sharing amongst the 2 of us but we did have to end up ordering a second one once we saw how small the dish was after it arrived. We felt like it was definitely only enough to feed one person. It was also very delicious so 1 just wasn’t going to do the job for the both of us. Lol other than that 10/10. One of my new favorite upscale places to dine

You have to try this place! Food was exquisite. Very comforting environment decorations placed nicely. Service was very professional, informative on the menu and quick. I spoke to the owner, which I believe is a professional chef, is so nice and great to talk to. I can tell she put a lot of passion into her business. This is something I pay attention to in detail when I go to new establishments. She has her own ideas and they were pleasant to experience. We'll done!!!

This was our first time at Slate — the first of many after a truly remarkable evening of fine food and drinks. I was hooked the minute I pressed the “Ring for Champagne” button at the entrance and I was actually served a glass of bubbles as I was seated! What a fun start to an exceptional experience.
There were so many sumptuous choices on the menu; we had a tough time choosing where to begin. We ordered cocktails (a filthy martini for me — I LOVED the syringe of olive brine to get as dirty as I wanted, but the elderflower sweetness threw me off, and my husband had the Slate spin on a Sidecar, which was really tasty and clever), accompanied by the deviled eggs with Cajun shrimp. Just wow — the shrimp were cooked to perfection and the rich, deep Cajun seasoning was on point.
We followed our appetizer with a shared caprese salad — set apart from the traditional presentation by a mysterious topping which turned out to be pistachio pesto. Damn. So good. We followed the recommended wine pairing — a French Pinot Grigio — which was perfect with the salad.
Despite being stuffed already, we couldn’t resist trying the crab cakes, which were undoubtedly the best I’ve ever eaten — loaded with crab (sans fillers), delicate, sweet and lightly seared to perfection. Unbelievable.
We were especially impressed by the wait staff (Caleb, our server, was so sweet), the expansive menu (don’t be intimidated by the absence of prices — we enjoyed two cocktails, three glasses of wine, and three generous courses of exceptional food for well under $200) and especially Chef Nik, who was present and attentive to guests throughout the evening.
As we shared hugs and goodbyes for the evening, she said, “I take great pride in every flavor I put in my dishes.” Thanks, chef, it shows! We can’t wait to come back!
