They stated to have a Chicago style ribs. So, I had to come see. They have there own special mild sauce and a spicy sauce. Very good and I was very impressed. A hiding gem in Avondale, stop by and tell them Chicago sent you. Wings were great, and fried to perfect. They been a staple in the community for over 6 years. Jamey and Reggie are great cooks and host.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Incredible BBQ & Soul Food! As newcomers to Phoenix from Idaho, we've been looking for that place that serves real comfort food made with heart, and we finally found it here at Taste My City in Phoenix AZ I ordered the small tip dinner plate with a side of potato salad, and my husband had the 2-piece catfish dinner with mac and cheese. We also grabbed two large cups of their red Kool-Aid, a strawberry cake, banana pudding, and a banana pudding cake to go. The BBQ tips were perfectly cooked with a delicious crispy edge, seasoned just right, and covered in an amazing sauce. They were so finger-licking good I couldn't stop eating them! The catfish was outstanding. We know what good catfish should taste like, and this was exactly that—perfectly seasoned, lightly breaded, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and cooked to perfection. It will definitely have you coming back for more. I can't forget the homemade sides! The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and tasted like it was made from scratch, with the perfect touch of black pepper that brought all the flavors together. The potato salad was perfectly balanced, creamy, and finished with a light sprinkle of paprika that gave it a wonderful homemade touch. When we walked in it was busy, but it was absolutely worth the wait. While waiting for our food, we decided to try the desserts first—and we have no regrets! The strawberry cake was rich, moist, and full of homemade flavor. The banana pudding? Let's just say... it's not your mama's banana pudding! It was so good we finished every bite and had to take a slice of the banana pudding cake home with us. From the food to the friendly atmosphere, everything felt like a homemade family meal that brought back memories of home. You can truly taste the love and passion they put into every dish. Let's not forget the music good old motown jams. Love every bit of it! We'll definitely be back again and again. If you're looking for authentic comfort food, incredible BBQ, and soul food made with love, this place is a must-try!

Is the spot to come too, not saying that I may or may not have came two days back to back... what can I say, lol. When have great customer service of the owners themselves, lovely couple, along with the food and atmosphere, it's a win plus for me and y'all should check it out too 😉

First time at taste my city, first when it came to ordering you are told you have to leave an tip first🤦🏿 1. Your food doesn't come on a plate 2. It came inside a brown paper bag without any eating utensils or napkins 3.No table service,no cornbread or muffin. Didn't have any Mac n cheese. The yams (good) The greens(salty but good) Bake beans look more like pinto beans with ground beef inside Rib tips (tender/good) Will I go again no $65 for 2 people. You don't get many choices on because you have to pay extra for sides,so I can have room I had to packed up my food to come home and eat on a plate and real forks, spoon, knife, damp towel to clean my hands. I strongly suggest to order togo because you're don't get restaurant service.

Was looking for something to eat all day somewhere that we hadn't been before, and we chose here since we are Chicago folks and this is a Chicago place. I got fish and chicken with mild sauce on chicken. Fish was the best I've had since we moved to Arizona. Fries were fried a bit too hard, but still good. Chicken was good, but wish I had got 2 pieces of fish instead of just 1. Wife got the rib tips and wings. She said the rib tips were alright, liked chicken much more. We will be back to try some different menu items. Worth the drive out there during rush hour that we took from South Mountain area.
