Itohan Glam Braids – Itohan’s African Hair Braiding

We have a classic Timeless story here of the " lady that does hair from her home".... This is exactly why I stopped going to black braiders/salons years ago. The same nonsense every single time, no respect for people’s time, no accountability, and zero communication, attidude, basically all the stereotypes they play out on media. I had an appointment scheduled for May 3rd at 8:00 a.m. I showed up early at 7:55 a.m. I texted when I was on the way, texted again when I arrived, and waited around for 10–15 minutes. Nothing. No response, no update, no apology, nothing. Just completely ignored. I drove 40 minutes for this. Forty minutes!! For simple cornrows. And you can’t even send a basic “running late” text or acknowledge your client? That’s not a mistake, that’s straight up disrespect. And no, I don’t want to hear excuses. There’s always some excuse, but at the end of the day, it’s poor business. If you can’t manage appointments, don’t book them. If you can’t communicate, don’t run a service-based business. This is unprofessional, rude, and a complete waste of time. I would not recommend booking here unless you’re okay with being ignored and having your time treated like it doesn’t matter. At this point, it just feels like a pattern in the black industry where clients are expected to tolerate lateness, no-shows, and bad communication, bad service. That’s not acceptable. If you’re running a business, act like it!

I have found my hair stylist for braids!! I moved to the area recently and was so happy I found Itohan. She is super friendly and has a comfy area relax while you are there. I would recommend for sure, I love my braids and everything went great, no drama and the price is perfect for what I wanted. I will come back to get my braids before my next vacation.

It’s been a while since i’ve gotten braids because I don’t like going to salons so when I found her I was excited to work w/ a home-based stylist. She did an incredible job and I love my hair! She handled my hair w/ care, the environment was welcoming and accommodating and she is super sweet and friendly-would definitely recommend!
